I hate to be in the same category of one of those Brits that walks around in their swimming costume the moment the weather hits double figures, but I woke up to blindingly bright blue skies, and 16.5 degrees heat. Yes, heat! It had seemed unfair up until this point that the shops are filled with summer, long before the season actually arrives - so all the cute little crop tops and light jackets were sitting wasted in the wardrobe. So, not the kind of girl to waste an opportunity, I made the most out of the sunshine - even though my tummy isn't exactly summer ready. God only knows how long it will be around.
It was amazing just being able to hang around outside with Stu, taking the chance the sunshine gave us to get some photos of my new camo jacket (that reminds me of my brother's squaddie uniform, for obvious reasons) and his Carhartt X Charge bike without needing to rush or the threat of hyperthermia. The comparative warmth was such a relief today that I'm now keeping my fingers crossed that the temperature will stay like this throughout the rest of spring. I know, optimistic to the point of stupidity.
